We serve nutritious food that is properly prepared and dietetically sound at each of the three daily meals. Virtually all food is made from scratch -- including fresh baked rolls at lunch and dinner -- as we seek to avoid the additives in processed foods. Meals are served family style with an emphasis on table manners, appropriate table conversation, trying new foods, and other general dining room etiquette. Healthy eating habits, weight maintenance/loss/gain, and nutrition are also stressed; as physical health and appearance often have a significant affect on social skills and self esteem.
Session Information
We offer two 30 day sessions (campers can attend one or both sessions). Our dates for this summer are: Session I - June 10th thru July 9th and Session II - July 14th thru August 12th.
More About Camp
Camp Buckskin is an overnight summer camp that specializes in serving boys and girls ages 6-18 who are experiencing academic and/or social skill difficulties. More specifically, the majority of our campers have AD/HD, Learning Disabilities, Aspergers or similar needs. Our campers have average to well above average intelligence. They also have a world of potential in many areas that has yet to be developed. They simply need extra help and support to convert their potentials into abilities. Most of our campers need to become more self-aware, particularly as to how their words and actions come across to others.Since our start in 1959, more than 7,000 children have benefitted from our therapeutic program. These young people have experienced a great deal of personal growth and improvement as reported by those who know them best - their parents, teachers and other involved professionals.
