Camp Burnt Gin, founded in 1945 and located near Sumter, South Carolina is a residential summer camp for children who have physical disabilities and chronic illnesses. Camp Burnt Gin operates four seven day sessions for 7-15 year olds, two six day sessions for 16-19 year olds and a four day camp for 20-25 year olds.
Counselors, in a ratio of one counselor for every two campers, live with the children and assist them with their daily needs and adjustment to camp life. Two registered nurses staff the infirmary and a nearby Pediatric Practice serves as our doctors on call.
Enrollment is limited to children from South Carolina. The deadline for applications is March 1st.
