The Y-Camp staff provides excellent activities and programs. Campers live in cabins with 7 built-in bunk beds with a Y-leader, diabetes counselor, and health professionals. Many of the staff members also have diabetes and serve great role models. Camp Hertko Hollow was founded in 1968 by Dr. Edward Hertko, who is now retired and spends full time on fund raising to provide camperships for children needing financial assistance. The director is Vivian Murray, who has had diabetes for 36 years and has been the Camp Director for 35 years.
