Scholaship are available for those in need...either partial or full. No camper with diabetes is denied the opportunity to attend camp...regardless of the family's financial situation.
Session Lengths
Food/Nutritional Notes:
1 Week Session
Well balanced, nutritional meals prepared and served to balance the camper's activities, insulin dosage, exercise and calorie/carb level. Prepared and served under the supervision of register dieticians. Nutritional information is presented to the camper to help them to make educated choices about their meal. Vegitarian meals available by notifying us in advance.
Session Information
2010 Session open for children with diabetes July 11-17, 2010. Space permitting, siblings and/or friends are welcome to attend. Camp STIX is held in beautiful Northeastern Washington near Newport and Lake Pend O'Reille.
More About Camp
Camp STIX provides a week long summer camp for children and teens with diabetes. We offer all the traditional activities that most summer camps have to offer...except here, the campers and staff have diabetes. Activities and meals are planned to help the camper lead a stronger and healthier life while learning to live with diabetes. At Camp STIX, campers leave knowing that they are not alone in this disease...they can lead normal healthy lives. Campers build life-long friendships and create lasting memories. Camp STIX is a community owned, 100% volunteer run program. Volunteer positions are available counselors, health staff and food staff. Junior Counselor positions are open to teens age 16 and older, Counselor positions are open for persons 18 and up. The health staff consists of 24-hour physicians, certified diabetes educators, pharmacists, and nurses.
