Wilderness Therapy Program Description

* Length of Stay: Minimum 30 days; Maximum 150 days; Determined on an individual basis.
* Wilderness Therapy: Our program focuses on utilizing backcountry living, peak ascents, therapeutic games and initiatives to challenge students in effective communication, self-analysis, healthy competition/teamwork, and conflict resolution. Build self-confidence, develop a sense of accomplishment and self-worth.
* Individual Therapy: Field therapists will meet with students for individual therapy each week.
* Family Therapy: Families are asked to participate in at least one Family Intensive, but can participate in more if the family requests. At least two therapists will work with your family to improve your family's overall level of awareness on how you lose contact with each other, how that break impacts the entire family system, and how to experience authentic contact and connection with each other. We encourage multiple day family intensives that are structured around work schedules.
* Educational Component: The Monarch Center for Family Healing operates a private, on grounds school with weekly experientially based curriculum. As a result, time spent at Monarch is usually transferable to home school districts.
