O.U.R. Camp (Opportunity * Understanding * Recreation) is a specialized day camp located in Northville, Michigan, for young children, ages 3 to 11, with developmental needs. Its purpose is to provide continuity with school year programs and to stimulate the development of cognitive and social skills during the summer months. Activities are designed to promote improved self-image, group and one-on-one interaction skills and physical mobility.
Nutritious drinks and snacks are provided once a day. Campers bring their own lunch.
Special dietary requests are always honored.
Session Information
Two sessions of three weeks each and one two-week session is available each summer. Camp sessions usually begin the last week of June. Camp sessions are held Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Campers are divided into groups of six and are supervised by two staff members. Group activities are designed to promote a sense of responsibility, team cooperation skills, and feelings of acceptance. Activities include
music, movement, arts and crafts, games and dramatic play to encourage the development of language and motor skills.

O.U.R. Camp is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) company that conducts a specialized summer day camp for young children, ages 3 to 11, with developmental needs. Its purpose is to provide continuity with school year programs and to stimulate the development of cognitive and social skills during the summer months. Activities are designed to promote improved self-image and group interaction skills. Since its inception in 2000, the children who have attended camp have had a wide range of special education certifications. Some of these include: Cognitive Impaired, Autistic Impaired, Speech and Language Impaired, Emotionally Impaired, or any child receiving special education services.
