The program offers a unique, innovative approach to substance abuse treatment, integrating a 12-step treatment with wilderness journeying and rites of passage.

Our therapists can provide you with a treatment plan and diagnosis within the first seven to ten days, that you can submit to your insurance company.
You may also be able to cover the cost of tuition with student loans through PrepGate or Key Bank.

Passages to Recovery is a nomadic wilderness program incorporating an innovative, holistic approach to a variety of issues including substance abuse, anxiety, depression, difficulties with relationships and others. We are a treatment and recovery program set in the wilderness. Passages to Recovery specializes in helping adults 18 to 50. The program offers a flexible length of stay with a minimum of 35 days. The program integrates the philosophy of the twelve steps with traditional therapy and the healing power of the wilderness.
Conventional treatment interventions such as substance use assessment individual and group therapy are incorporated into an experiential journey which includes backpacking, primitive living skills, sweat lodges and a vision quest. The wilderness serves as an alternative to traditional treatment settings, by removing distractions and providing a spiritual physically and emotionally safe environment. The treatment team includes highly skilled therapists, wilderness guides, counseling staff a consulting psychiatrist and physician.
Passages to Recovery is a living intervention whose primary focus is to promote a holistic approach to lifestyle, embracing spirituality and accountability for one's actions. Participants frequently work on personal issues that may include:

The program offers a well developed chemical dependency and psychiatric treatment curriculum educating identified students on the detrimental effects of chemical addiction and other psychiatric challenges as it relates to their physical, mental and spiritual health.
Passages to Recovery assists students in the process of identifying and confronting their fears, struggles and patterns of behavior in a supportive and emotionally safe milieu. Daily therapeutic and educational groups foster empowered, purposeful living.
