Campers have the option to bring or buy lunch. All foods brought to or purchased at camp are Kosher and peanut free.
Session Information
Social Thinking Camps
Within a well-rounded, traditional day-camp program, Social Thinking camps are small, supportive community that helps campers improve their social skills. Social Thinkers are bright, creative individuals who have difficulty connecting with their peers and navigating their way in social situations. Limited space available; personal interview is required.
Our focus is on building social thinking skills through activity-based, social learning experiences. Social facilitators teach individuals the social thinking tools which sensitizes the campers to body language, social cues the implications and perspectives of different approaches to people.
Side by Side Campers (ages 7-12) will participate in:
- Outdoor and indoor recreational experiences
- Fun indoor/outdoor practice-oriented activities
- Direct social thinking instruction
- Cooperative learning experiences
- Integrated specials and trips with Kids Campers
Social Thinking Leaders in Training (ages 13 and up) will participate in:
- Leadership/Job preparation (including training, weekly meetings and evaluations)
- Outdoor and indoor recreational experiences (assisting younger "Kids Campers")
- Direct social thinking instruction
- Cooperative learning experiences
- Integrated trips with Kids Campers and CITs
