The Center for Courageous Kids is a year-round medical camp located in Scottsville, Kentucky that serves children and their families that suffer from chronic medical conditions or life-threatening illness.
The Center for Courageous Kids provides three balanced meals per day. We attempt to meet all dietary challenges including gluten-free and PKU. The Center for Courageous Kids offers PKU and Severe Food Allergy camping opportunities. Please contact us for more information.
Session Information
The Center for Courageous Kids has 20 family retreat weekends during the spring and fall for campers between 3 and 17 and their entire family and 9 weeks of traditional summer camp for children between 7 and 15. Each weekend and week of summer camp is illness-specific.
The Center for Courageous Kids will never charge a camper or family to attend. We function solely by donations.

Founded by Elizabeth Turner Campbell in 2004, The Center for Courageous Kids is a medical camp in Scottsville, Kentucky providing a cost-free, safe, and fun camping experience for seriously ill and disabled children and their families. Our mission is to uplift children who have chronic medical conditions and life-threatening illnesses by creating experiences year-round that are memorable, exciting, fun, build self-esteem, are physically safe, and medically sound.
Each fall and spring, we have 20 illness-specific Family Retreat weekends for campers ages 3 to 17 and their families. In the summer, The Center for Courageous Kids offers 9 weeks of traditional summer camp for children ages 7 to 15 with chronic medical conditions and life-threatening illnesses.
