A highly-specialized resource is available in the Tampa Bay area for individuals affected by learning disabilities: The Ford Center for Reading, a local learning center that provides one-on-one multi-sensory and research-based educational therapy. Our programs improve sensory-cognitive and meta-cognitive functioning that allows for success in reading, spelling, writing, handwriting, vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and basic math. By use of these programs, we fix the root cause of a learning difficulty so that students may complete schoolwork independently and successfully, given enough time in treatment.
Experience with Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, Hearing Impairment, Speech Impairment, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, and Asperger's Syndrome.
We are highly effective and typically see results of 1-3 years gain in approximately 100 hours of treatment. This is a conservative representation of our efficacy. In fact, a breakdown of 2004-2006 results shows our averages as follows:
