More About Camp
A Tradition of Excellence Since its beginning, The League at Camp Greentop has met the individual needs of campers while they grow and enjoy friendship, recreation, and nature.
Established in 1937, Camp Greentop is one of the oldest residential camps specifically designed for children and adults with physical and multiple disabilities.
Located on 200 acres in the beautiful Catoctin Mountain National Park, six miles west of Thurmont, Maryland, Camp Greentop is operated by The League for People With Disabilities, Inc., with the cooperation of the National Park Service.
Camp Greentop is accredited by the American Camping Association and is licensed by the State of Maryland for Youth Camp Certification
Camp Greentop serves youth and adults who have physical, cognitive, affective, and multiple disabilities. Camp is structured to provide programs that promote independence. Staff are trained to support campers with their personal care needs.
All new campers and their families will have an interview over the phone or meet with the Camp Administration prior to the camper attending the session. The interview is a process to allow administration, campers, and families to assess how Camp programs can be successful for the participants.
