For our traditional camps 1 week programs are $950 and two week programs are $1850.

Financial Assistance Available

Camp Awakening has information on a wide variety of financial assistance options and will support your family in your efforts to secure appropriate funding or create a payment plan.

While Camp Awakening does not have a registered dietitian on staff, we will do our best to accommodate your camper's diet as closely as possible. If you have dietary restrictions or concerns for your camper, please ensure there is a detailed list of acceptable foods and practices included with your camper's forms. We may require you to supply food and/or supplements.

Camp Awakening partners with established summer camps across the province of Ontario offering a wide range of adapted activities. Awakening campers enjoy all the same activities as their able-bodied peers, just at their own pace and level of ability. Campers participate in 4 to 6 recreation activity periods daily - with at least 4 to 6 hours of instructional physical activity each day! These include low impact to intense physical exercise at swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, archery, field sports (wheelchair basketball, sledge hockey, soccer, baseball...), tennis, and challenge courses (40 foot rock walls & low ropes).

There are also artistic pursuits such as arts & crafts, pottery, and drama, as well as theme days, all-camp games, campfires, talent shows and lots & lots of fun! A highlight for many campers is the wilderness canoe tripping program taking kids, and their assistive devices, into Ontario's beautiful Provincial Parks for a 2 to 5 day paddling adventure where they cook over a campfire, sleep in a tent, and explore nature barrier-free.

Building on over 40 years of experience, Camp Awakening counsellors are great role models and mentors skilled at adapting activities to meet each campers' desire for adventure. They also teach kids how to live a healthy, balanced lifestyle that encourages good habits: regular, nutritious meals; adequate rest; and an abundance of exercise.

Perhaps most importantly, Camp Awakening summer camp and leadership programs create opportunities for youth with physical disabilities to make friends with other campers just like them and accomplish things that they never thought they could before.
