Easter Seals UCP has a long history of providing quality camping programs for people with physical and cognitive disabilities. Our camp programs are designed to offer children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy fun and challenging activities in a supportive and cooperative environment. Activities include swimming, drama, canoeing, overnight camping, marksmanship, climbing wall, music, sports, horseback riding, nature studies, crafts, fishing, dancing, games, gardening and many special events. Sessions range from 6 to 26 days in length. Teams of staff members, led by unit leaders, live with campers to provide supervision and personal care assistance as needed. Staff to camper ratio is based on each individual's needs and the average ratio is one staff member per two campers. Camp Easter Seals UCP is accredited by the American Camp Association. Safety of the campers is the primary concern of all Easter Seals camp programs. Staff members of all programs attend a one-week training period before campers arrive. This training covers all aspects of working with the campers, emphasizing safe practice and preventitive measures in everything from personal care to health considerations to recreational activities.
