More About Camp
Success Oriented Achievement Realized features success-oriented, high adventure programs for preteens and teens with learning disabilities (LD) and/or Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (AD/HD). Emphasis is places on developing self-confidence, social skills, problem-solving techniques, a willingness to attempt new challenges, and the motivation, which comes through successful goal orientation. SOAR believes that all individuals identified with LD or AD/HD possess inherent talents and gifts that can mean incredible success in adulthood. SOAR leads summer expeditions in North Carolina, Wyoming, Florida, California, Costa Rica, and IL. Wilderness activities include: backpacking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, llama treks, caving, mountaineering, fishing, snorkeling, surfing, and SCUBA diving. Low student to counselor ratio.
