We also offer Camp Widow Kids every year in San Diego so children 5-17 can attend with their parent. Soaring Spirits' Camp Widow Kids program creates the same peer atmosphere for children ages 5-17 that we provide for their parents who attend Camp Widow. Our kids program is focused on the power of narrative and the building of community. Over two days, we will be assisting young people who have experienced the death of a parent to tell the story of their grief experience in their own words. Throughout the weekend they will "build" their storytelling skills and create their own unique narrative that acknowledges the death of their parent, and also honors the love they will always have for their parent.

Camp Widow is a unique and incredible experience. This innovative program provides practical tools and research-informed resources for widowed persons rebuilding their lives in the aftermath of the death of a spouse or partner. We offer both weekend-long and one day events across the United States and in a variety of International locations.

Camp Widow blends elements of three event styles: a conference format, an inspiring retreat, and a reunion with great friends. Campers are encouraged to personalize their weekend to best fit their needs taking into account the time since loss, current areas of focus for healing, and the need for self-care as we do the emotional work of healing.

Our current offerings are in Tampa in March, San Diego in July with pop up locations each year. Internationally we have a camp in Toronto in November. Each camp is held at a Marriott hotel and conference center location.

We offer full and half camperships to widowed people in need.

Meals provided for dinner and breakfast throughout the weekend with hotel and nearby options for lunch/snacks.

The information and resources we offer are a vital part of the value of the camp program, but the most important thing that Camp Widow provides to the widowed people who attend is an in-person community of men and women who are making their way through widowhood one day at a time. Campers come from all over the country, and around the world, to meet other widowed people face-to-face, and to experience the camaraderie that this event creates.
