John Stuart Mill was born on Rodney Street in the Pentonville area of London, the eldest son of the Scottish philosopher, historian and economist James Mill, and Harriet Burrow. ACTIVITIES:
Our activities are a mix of unique, one-of-a-kind Camp Casco programs, to give our campers a special camp experience every time they attend. Our programming is different each year, and incorporates both our annual camp traditions and our camp theme. All activities are thoughtfully planned to encourage peer relationship-building and positive, supportive interactions.


CAMPSITE:
Grotonwood is a camp and conference center located in the beautiful countryside town of Groton, MA. Nestled in 247 acres of private woodland, camp is a treasure trove of outdoor fun and recreation. They have been welcoming youth and adults with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities for over sixty years!

Throughout our camp session, we’ll make use of the Dining Center, indoor arts and crafts space, spacious gymnasium, grassy areas, scenic waterfront, and comfortable lodges. A "Med Shed" room, equipped with medical supplies and staffed with medical professionals around the clock, ensures that children can receive excellent care anytime, day or night.

This beautiful campsite is modernized, well-maintained, equipped with indoor bathrooms and electricity, and ensures the comfort and safety of our campers throughout the week.


STAFFING:
Our camps are staffed primarily by volunteer camp counselors. All of our counselors undergo a rigorous application, interview, and process, and complete extensive background checks and both online and onsite training. We have a nearly 1:1 counselor-to-camper ratio. We also have medical professionals onsite round-the-clock to provide any routine medications, first aid care, etc. We constantly hear from our camp families that we have the best camp counselors around!
