This year's camp will offer a combination of culinary experiences and hands-on life skills learning opportunities through the preparation and consumption of meals made by staff and students. Students with a sensitive diet should indicate as we do accommodate special diets.

At Vanguard, we take a practical approach to academic subjects- targeting basic fundamental skills such as reading comprehension, language arts in context, contemporary technology use, and utilizing mathematics in the real world. Our camp counselors are able to incorporate fun and practical experiences into a meaningful learning environment that both challenges and entertains. This approach allows students to increase their academic skills across all content areas, as well as understand the purpose for these skills in life and in the future and how to apply these skills in real-world scenarios, having fun along the way.

The social-emotional learning and life skills components of the summer program permeate our summer camp. This social-emotional curriculum helps students to attain the skills necessary to manage and interpret emotions, feel and show empathy, exhibit self-control, make responsible decisions, and interact with others in our digitally-influenced world. The life skills activities give students the independent living skills necessary for life as adults, including but not limited to, laundry, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, and more.

The weekends and evenings of camp are filled with exciting activities, field trips, physical activities and more. Taking advantage of Vanguard's beautiful Central Florida location, these activities include:
