Non-profit organization offers two summer camps in Goshen, Vermont with age appropriate programs: Mountain Reach accepts campers at the developmental ages of 12 to 26 with physical, developmental and mental disabilities including cerebral palsy, developmental delays, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, emotional difficulties, abuse histories, and moderate behavioral conditions. Pine Haven accepts campers ages 21 and over with physical and developmental disabilities. We are able to keep our tuition low by fundraising and a supportive community.
Financial Assistance Available
Full and partial camperships are provided for campers in financial need. Please email for an application.
Camp Thorpe works hard to meet the diverse dietary requirements of our campers. We take pride in working with local farmers and dairies to provide fresh, seasonal produce, milk, eggs, meat and even coffee! Camp serves three, family-style meals in our dining hall each day unless we have a sit-down cookout in our covered pavilion. Snacks are also served in the mid-morning and evening. We work hard to meet the needs of campers who need gluten-free, low-sugar, vegetarian, or with mild allergies. There is always a sandwich/salad alternative for each meal. Campers with extreme food allergies or restrictions are asked to work directly with the Camp Director to ensure that Camp Thorpe can meet their requirements.
Camp Thorpe's focus is on meeting the needs of each individual camper; showing each that he/she has ability and potential. Participation is intended to further develop this potential. It is hoped that each camper will leave Camp Thorpe with feelings of self-respect, new leisure skills, respect for others and for nature.
