Camp Attaway is a summer recreation program for children with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. The camp began in 1996, and has now operated sixteen three-week programs serving a total of 292 children (ages seven to thirteen) and their families. All children met the Camp's entry criteria, having been identified with one or more serious emotional or behavioral disorders. Each child's needs were of such severity as to require specialized therapeutic recreation in a highly structured and supportive setting.

This is a traditional, residential summer camp for children and adults with all types of disabilities or special needs. June through August. There are 6 day and 12 day sessions for children 6 – 21, and 6 day sessions for adults 21+. There are two weeks each summer just for children with Autism ( 6 – 21) where each child has his/her own counselor. Generally there are 2 camp participants per one counselor. All activities and all facilities are fully accessible. Swimming pool, horseback riding, rock wall, high ropes, zip line, canoeing and many other traditional outdoor activities. Nurses on site 24/7, physician on call 24/7. Typical disabilities include but not limited to DD, CP, MD, TBI and orthopedic injuries, Autism, and sometimes medically fragile. Pre-camp interviews are conducted to be sure that Camp Fairlee can assure the health and safety of each participant. Also: Off season travel trips and respite weekends from September to May for adults 18+ Camp Fairlee is an Easter Seals brand and has been offering recreation and respite services to children and adults with disabilities since 1954.
