At the Kinark Outdoor Centre (KOC), all of our current programs are family‑based, meaning families remain responsible for the care and supervision of their children while participating together on site. Our programs are designed to offer a meaningful family respite experience—providing families with the opportunity to step away from the routines of home, immerse themselves in the outdoors, and reconnect with nature. Through shared camp experiences, families can relax, explore, and participate in intentional skill‑building activities together, strengthening relationships while enjoying personal growth and time as a family in a supportive, inclusive environment

Funded Autism Family Social (Spring 2026)
The Funded Autism Family Social is a fully funded, 3‑day family respite program offered in the spring. Designed for the whole family, these camps are funded entirely by Kinark and provided at no cost to families through a lottery‑based application process. Families apply through the registration portal and are randomly selected within their preferred dates, offering an inclusive, supportive opportunity for families to connect, relax, and enjoy time together.

Autism Summer Family Camp (Summer 2026)
The Autism Summer Family Camp is a 4‑day, fee‑for‑service recreational camp where families attend and participate together as a single unit. Parents and caregivers remain responsible for their children throughout the program, which focuses on shared family experiences rather than one‑to‑one respite. Families enjoy a wide range of inclusive activities in a supportive camp environment, with all meals, accommodations, and programming included. Tiered pricing options are available to help increase accessibility and allow families to choose a fee level that best suits their financial capacity.

OAP Seasonal Socials (Summer & Fall 2026)
OAP Seasonal Socials provide an all‑inclusive family camp experience with an intentional focus on social skill development and targeted learning domains. These programs include Kinark clinical oversight, and eligible expenses may be recoverable through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). In 2026, offerings include two 4‑day camps in the summer and six 3‑day camps in the fall. Families participate together in a supported camp setting that promotes skill development, family connection, and meaningful shared experiences.

Financial Assistance Available

We offer a limited number of fully funded family camp opportunities each season through a lottery‑based system.

We also work in partnership with OAP funding, allowing families to apply their OAP funds toward select camp dates and sessions.

At the Kinark Outdoor Centre (KOC), we work closely with our kitchen catering partner to provide nutritious, well‑balanced meals for all camp programs. Menus are planned with flexibility in mind and are adapted each session to accommodate the individual dietary needs of families, including allergies, sensory preferences, and special nutritional requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all participants feel safe, supported, and able to enjoy meals together as part of a positive and inclusive camp experience.

The Kinark Outdoor Centre (KOC) is part of Kinark Child and Family Services, a leading non‑profit organization dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families with complex needs across Ontario. KOC offers inclusive, family‑based camp programs for families with children and youth on the autism spectrum. Families attend programs together and remain responsible for the care and supervision of their children throughout their stay.

KOC programs are designed to provide a meaningful family respite experience by offering time away from daily routines, opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, and space to reconnect as a family in a supportive, natural setting. Families participate in a variety of recreational and skill‑building activities that promote connection, confidence, and shared enjoyment in an inclusive camp environment.
