We offer full care, overnight camp YEAR-ROUND for adults with developmental disabilities, including specialized 1:1 sessions for campers who require individualized care.
Campers sleep in cabins or dormitories and are invited to join us for camp activities such as archery, bocce ball, arts & crafts, music & Bible, mini golf, group games, and chapel. Our facility sits on a beautiful spring-fed lake, providing the opportunity for optional waterfront activities including wading, swimming, and boating. Each week we also provide special programs and activities including: talent show, picnics, movie night, water games, hayrides, dance parties, musical guests and theme night.
We offer typical weeks (ratio 5:1) and specialized weeks (ratio 1:1).

We have scholarships available. Please contact us to request a scholarship application form and to speak with our Program Manager about your financial needs.

We specialize in providing a full range of modified diets - whole, cut, chopped, ground, puree and feeding tube. We also customize meals for campers who are diabetic, gluten free or have allergies. Campers are served and supervised by staff to ensure safety and quality during meal times. Our food service includes 3 square meals each day, an afternoon low calorie snack and an evening snack/treat.

The safety and supervision of all campers is our staff's greatest priority. Our “Protective Oversight Plan” ensures that every individual has a safe stay at camp. Detailed records are kept, tracking camper care and activity each day.

Each year our camp is inspected by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Broome NY Developmental Services. Shepherds Camp has been approved by the New York State OPWDD to care for adults with developmental disabilities. The approval process includes a full review of our facilities, policies and procedures, and protective oversight plan each season of operation.

Summer night staff are awake all night, indoors and outdoors.
All cabins are equipped with lighted security systems.
Hourly bed checks are available in the dormitories.
A radio system facilitates communication 24 hours a day.
Wheelchair accessibility for housing and recreational activities.
Professional medical staff are onsite 24 hours a day.

Shepherds Camp is now Year-Round! Join us for sessions in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. FWS sessions include all the classic camp activities as well as personalized programming and independent living skills enrichment.
