We recommend the the entire family unit attends family camp, along with any other primary caregivers such as grandparents so that everyone stays on the same page.

For family farm sessions, children need to be accompanied by at least one caregiver.

We offer family camps the year round, usually a session is Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. People can sign up for up to 3 weeks in the summer if we have room, and they don't have to be contiguous. Families stay off-site in the local area and travel to camp each day. Families bring their own sack lunch and bottled water to each session. Parents receive 3-4 hours per day of intensive parenting instruction and discussion while their kids are involved in work or fun activities with volunteers and interns. Parents will also be able to participate in work or fun activities with their children 2-3 hours per day, getting personalized family skills training during these activities. Activities at the farm center around taking care of the horses, garden, land, buildings, and projects to improve equipment or facilities. Everyone will get the chance to ride 2-3 times per week, on other days we play games.

We support and enhance the parenting education taught during camp through a weekly online parenting class, as well as providing one-on-one telephone, Zoom, or email support.

We offer family farm sessions the weeks that camp is not in session. They are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 9 am to 4 pm. We have a small group of volunteers, interns, and volunteer families that help support operations. We generally do barn chores and other jobs in the morning and horse activities or interesting projects in the afternoons. We generally have 10 or fewer people on site and can give a lot of attention to working on parenting strategies, family skills, and individual skills while we are accomplishing tasks and fun activities. The emphasis is always on growth. During camps, our volunteer families often attend one or more days per week to show a positive example and help the new participants accomplish common tasks.

We are open to all types of families. Some have children without a diagnosis that the parents want to behave more appropriately, many have children with autism or other diagnosis. Some kids are high performers and want to learn how to help other kids and learn new skills. We have a tendency to attract families with one or more issues going on in their lives, a full 90% or so.

Our organization is faith-based Christian, but low-key.

Financial Assistance Available

We suggest a donation of $1500/week/family, usually the family provides half and their employer the other half through employee matching programs. However, not everyone can afford this.

Families bring their own sack lunch and beverages to our day camp. It should not need heating or refrigeration. We are not certified to provide food, drink, or cooking facilities.

Our camp is set in a rural area on a few acres in the foothills of the Cascades of Oregon. Our camps are small, usually only 3-4 families at a time, and we can schedule camps the year round as families need. Participants can receive further support through weekly online group parenting classes as well as one-on-one telephone, Zoom, and email support.
