Campers with unique and special needs

Wilderness Adventure Camps for children with sensory processing disorders, Brain Injuries, CP, developmental disabilities and visual impairments.

Kamp Kiwanis offers a unique Kamp experience for campers ages 8-14, a teen program for teens ages 15-17 and for adults with high functioning special needs ages 18+. The child program at Kamp is designed to mainstream all kampers including up to 20 each session with special needs. We want our Kampers to explore the world through environmental and cultural activities while respecting the rights and dignity of all kampers and staff.

We offer fun & exciting day programs for individuals between the ages of 5 – 26 who have been diagnosed with cognitive and/or physical impairments. A variety of sites are offered to best suits the needs and abilities of participants. Programs are designed for individuals who will be successful in a 3:1 ratio. New participants and parents must schedule an assessment with Program Coordinator and Adaptive Recreation Specialist prior to the start of the program.

Skyline welcomes campers with special needs in two sessions ( young adults, adults) for week-long residential camp. Just north of Metro Detroit, Skyline is accredited by the American Camp Association. Ratio for special needs camps is 1:3.

Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake is a fully accessible residential summer camp that serves children who are 'at-risk', disadvantaged and /or living with emotional, physical and developmental disabilties.

St Francis Camp is a Special Needs Camp that serves the Southern Michigan, Northern Ohio and Indiana population

Camp Easterseals Virginia offers a traditional camp and recreation experience, adapted to meet the needs of children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. Camp is located in Craig County near Roanoke, VA, in a beautiful mountain setting.
