POW Therapeutic Summer Camp consists of language groups led by a special educator and speech-language pathologist, consisting of communication development, language-based activities, play therapy, and brief individual/dyad sessions. Activities include functional play, sensory activities, arts & crafts, and movement activities.
This is a traditional, residential summer camp for children and adults with all types of disabilities or special needs. June through August. There are 6 day and 12 day sessions for children 6 - 21, and 6 day sessions for adults 21+. There are two weeks each summer just for children with Autism ( 6 - 21) where each child has his/her own counselor. Generally there are 3 camp participants per one counselor, but one to one counseling is available.
An Outdoor Camp for deaf kids and hearing kids of deaf parents!
Deaf Camps, Inc. runs week-long residential camps in Knoxville, MD for deaf or hard of hearing children (ages 7-19) and hearing children who want to learn American Sign Language (ages 7-18).
