MHKC empowers individuals with developmental disabilities through equitable access to the outdoors and recreation. We provide a can-do, accepting, caring, friendly, independence-, and confidence-building environment. We have provided overnight camping programs since 1933. In 1957, our focus changed to primarily serving individuals with disabilities. We are accredited through the American Camp Association.

We have a lot of experience with special-needs families, we have been providing parenting education, family skills training, and vocational training for many years. Often a place of last resort, we get results if parents are willing to put in the time and effort to change the family dynamics and help their kids develop.
