We use the Frequency, Intensity, Duration Model. Our campers make phenomenal gains in motor skills, language, social skills, academics and sensory processing. We require the presence of at least one parent for each camper, the camp becomes a parent training, networking and support system. Parents are trained in therapy techniques that can be used at home to continue advancement of their child.

Our ongoing weekly Social Detective small groups are based on our evidence based curriculums and our award winning book, "Diary of a Social Detective". Over a period of several weeks we explore topics such as reading verbal and non-verbal communication, perspective taking, self awareness, self-regulation and other essential skills for success, happiness and well being.

At NCTRC, we believe in the power of inclusion and the joy of exploration (and of course in the magic of horses!). Nestled in the serene countryside of Mebane, our camp offers an enriching experience for children aged 6 to 11, with or without disabilities. And guess what? Club Lily is a fun camp opportunity for adults (18 and up) with any disability or special need.

All camps are open to children with or without special needs. Camps will include daily riding lessons, horse crafts, games and a Horse Show on the last day so campers can strut their stuff!

Skyline welcomes campers with special needs in two sessions ( young adults, adults) for week-long residential camp. Just north of Metro Detroit, Skyline is accredited by the American Camp Association. Ratio for special needs camps is 1:3.

UCP Summer Camps - Where Summer Learning and Fun Begins!

Located on 52 acres in the Cleveland Metroparks Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville, Camp Cheerful is Ohio's first barrier-free camp. Camp Cheerful offers residential co-ed sessions in a beautiful outdoor environment for children and adults ages 7 and older with special needs.

Our camp is an intense speech and language based program taught by licensed and graduate level speech pathologists. Our innovative camp is thematically based and includes weekly field trips.

Respite Camp allows individuals to enjoy the out of doors in a supportive small group ratio while giving the caregivers a needed break. Most groups are 2 counselors with 3-4 campers

Campers will have the opportunity to learn and practice early learner skills in a safe and supportive environment.

All Camps, no matter what they are named, are "exploratory-style", meaning campers will have the opportunity to explore a variety of summer recreation and camp activities which may include archery, arts and crafts, community field trips, cycling, high ropes challenge course, indoor climbing, field games, mountain biking, paddle sports, sensory and science projects, and equestrian activities.
